We know that whatever event you are planning is important to you, therefore I'd just like to offer you some basic tips on how to hire a PROFESSIONAL DJ:

• Ask if they are licensed to do business in your area or state (You can verify this by checking here for Hawaii, Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs)
  
• Ask if they carry Public/General Liability Insurance, some venues will require proof of this prior to your event or your DJ setting up
• Ask for current references and/or video, audio of previous performances
• Ask if you and or your guest can submit music request both prior to the event and if they will take them the day of the event
• Ask what level of interaction (if any) will they have with your guest (ALL DJ's ARE NOT THE SAME)
• Ask if they have a website, most professionals do (this is NOT to be confused with ONLY a Facebook or Myspace page)
• Ask about overtime rates, these rates will normally be different than the standard hourly rate
• Ask about the number of years experience they have
